ALLRAIL attends InnoTrans 2024

The ALLRAIL team had a busy and productive week at Innotrans 2024, engaging in discussions on the future of passenger rail market opening and connecting with stakeholders to advance a more open and competitive passenger rail transport sector in Europe.

Connecting with Members

A key highlight of this week was the informal lunch with several ALLRAIL members – Arenaways, European Sleeper, First Rail, FlixTrain, ilisto, MTR Nordic Group, Snälltåget, and Transdev. This gathering was a great opportunity to share insights on market developments and reinforce our community’s efforts towards a more open rail market.

Presentation of the European Commission’s Study on the Benefits of Competition in Passenger Rail

Another key moment was the release of a new study by the European Commission demonstrating the benefits of increased competition in passenger rail. The study shows that the opening of the EU rail market has significantly reduced ticket prices and boosted ridership, for both Open Access and Public Service Obligations markets.

The study can be accessed here.

ALLRAIL Signs the Joint declaration of the ERTMS Stakeholder Platform

The ERTMS Stakeholders’ Platform – of which ALLRAIL is a member – also met at InnoTrans to sign the Joint Declaration reaffirming its commitment to the ERTMS program and its targets. ALLRAIL joined other stakeholders in calling for, among other things, sufficient and non-discriminatory funding to support the successful deployment of ERTMS across Europe.
