The Global Ukraine Rail Task Force is proud to highlight the highly commendable humanitarian efforts of Simon Cassidy, a dedicated rail sector colleague from First Group and Member of our Task Force.
Every month, Simon takes time off work to transport essential aid donated from the UK to the Humanitarian Hub for Ukraine in Poland.
On a recent trip, Simon met a young refugee girl in Poland. He recalled: “It was her birthday and she had received no presents. We rummaged through the vans, and she left with a bagful of toys and a cuddly giraffe.”
Simon adds: “The Ukrainian people are really struggling, and they need our support. I know they would do the same for us – and for that reason I will do everything I can to help them.”
Simon is preparing for his 7th journey to Poland this Saturday, 13th July.
