Live Meeting of the Platform on International Rail Passenger Transport (‘IRP’)
headquarters of the Office for Rail and Road (ORR)

Our Secretary General, Nick Brooks, participated in the IRP meeting on Ticketing hosted by the United Kingdom’s Transport Ministry—the Department for Transport (DfT)—at the headquarters of the UK rail regulator, the Office for Rail and Road (ORR), located at Canary Wharf in London. He travelled there on the world-famous Elizabeth Line, opened just two years ago, which is operated by MTR, a member of ALLRAIL.

International passenger rail transport is currently not performing to its potential within Europe. Therefore, on 2 June 2020, European Ministers of Transport decided to establish the Platform on International Rail Passenger Transport (‘IRP’). The Platform collaborates with all signing EU Member States and third countries, the European Commission, the EU Agency for Railways, Europe’s Rail, OTIF, and rail sector organisations & associations such as ALLRAIL.
